Overview

Our in-house marketing team was tasked with designing and producing a Request for Proposal (RFP) within a short timeframe, as several copies (50 booklets in total) were needed for distribution among several key meetings throughout the week. Due to the quick turnaround—we needed to design, proofread, meticulously review stats, make edits (as needed), get final executive approvals and send to print vendor for production by week’s end—as final booklets needed to be ready to go out that following Monday.

Process

Step 1: Consultation

Attended a meeting with the client, copywriter/project manager, and production manager to go over the request from the client and see how the expectation can be met and when.

Step 2: Conceptualize

Had a meeting of the minds with the production manager and copywriter/project manager to go over ideas on design, copy and timeline.

Step 3: Layout

Worked closely with the production manager to put together the structure and design of the book. And utilized the copy to implement designs that brought the copy to life.

Step 4: Strategic Branding

Utilized iconography and designs that I previously created for other campaigns for consistency and to increase brand awareness and brand recognition in the expansion areas.

  • The title is consistent with previous collateral

  • Cover has the same design layout as previously designed pull-up banners and vehicle wrap

  • Icons have been used on previous OOH advertising and collateral

  • Added glossary, table of contents and iconography index based off of feedback from external constituents

Step 5: Intricate Innovative Production Design

Added minimal design details that made a big difference, such as: placed a quote on the inside front cover the pocket in the back of the booklet for interchangeable collateral; placed name and logo on the bottom of the inside pages; added social media handles on the pocket as a call-to-action; highlighted counties that correlate with each state on their individual pages.
